Online release: Black Space

Words by: Black Archives Sweden Published on: 15 March, 2022

Welcome to the online release of Black Archives Sweden’s zine publication: Black Space! During the release, the editors: Jonelle Twum and Abdul Dube will be in conversation about the theme of the zine, Black Space and with the contributors of the zine. The contributors will also offer us readings of their works. We introduce the zine with a note from the editors:

“Black Space was born through a creative collaboration between Black Archives Sweden and the zinester Abdul Dube as we asked ourselves the question of what space means and can mean for Black people. The spatial experience of race and racial violence has been well-researched academically and creatively. And our lived experiences bear witness to this. In respect to this, the zine meditates on the realities and possibilities of space for Black people. Black space is cyberspace, physical space, alternative space, imaginative spaces, galactic spaces, parallel realms, and everything in between, above, and below.”
